Emergency Spice Storage Needed!
We had a tall wooden shelf in our kitchen that had shelves that were only 4" deep. It might have been originally designed to hold cassette tapes. We used it for tea and spices. Today, our landlady decided she wanted to use it in her cottage and took it. Do you have a skinny shelf we could put to use? Our kitchen table is now covered in spices and we have nowhere to put them! We also have zero budget!
The original shell was 25" wide and 4" deep. The space we have for a shelf is about 40" long. Height is not an issue. If it is a wide shelf, the maximum depth the shelves could be is 8". If the shelf is tall and narrow the shelves could be a little deeper without keeping drawers from opening.
We are thinking a shelf designed for CDs or even cassettes would work best. It coud be wooden or maybe even metal, like a bakers rack style. Even 2 or three tall skinny CD shelves like Ikea's Benno shelves could work. We are open to suggestions!
