When People Can Send Me Drugs Via Amazon.....
Trying to sort things out and come up with a plan for the next few days. I am literally so sick of being sick. That stupid prescription cough syrup is worthless! Even though I was really sleepy I was up all night coughing instead. Then I finally fell asleep late morning and slept all day!
I wish I could just relax and let my body do what it needs to without worrying about how I'm going to cover food and medicine or how much I've spent already. I'm officially out of the OTC stuff that was helping. I'm almost out of food.
I desperately want to take a real shower but I'm so dizzy that I've had several close calls where I'd have fallen for sure if I hadn't had something to grab onto! My neuropathy is flaring. My poor joints and muscles ache because they want to exercise but all I can manage is gentle stretching. I haven't been this sick for a long time that's for sure! Three damn weeks!
Waah!
I have a tiny bit of money and I am trying to figure out how to use it in the most effective way. I'm also afraid that I won't be well enough by Wednesday to do my dog walk which will mean I flat out have no grocery money for the rest of the month. Having to worry about stuff like this sure can't be helping me get better!
I was thinking I would just take what I have and go to the store tomorrow, get the smallest box of Mucinex DM I could find and spend whatever I have left on cans of soup. But being so dizzy, I don't feel safe driving so now I'm thinking it might be more practical to stay home and have a couple large Chinese soups delivered. That helped so much last week and I got about 5 days worth of food.
Update: A kind friend (ND) ordered my meds through Amazon so now I just have to worry about food!

Hooray! Thank you for buying my meds! Now I can use the little bit of $cratch I have for food.

Well, the cats are happier now. Fed, watered and scooped. And I just had a meal brought to me by SCIENCE! And I say, all hail the mighty preservatives.
I stopped buying Trader Joe's bagels because they would mold way too quickly, supposedly because they don't use preservatives. I bought some Sara Lee bagels a couple weeks ago but I've been so sick I haven't wanted bread.
Today I woke up craving bread, so I pulled out the bag, dreading green bread, but they were ok! Now I'm happily chewing on a buttery, multigrain bagel and sipping green tea. I can even taste it just a little! Huzzah!
Today's science lesson: All preservatives aren't bad. Sara Lee uses Calcium propionate, which is a calcium salt. If you were to consume large quantities of it, yes it's toxic, but the amount used in baked goods just keeps mold and bacteria at bay.
And here is where the difference between SCIENCE and pseudoscience propaganda looms large! Because they will tell you all preservatives are bad, while science overwhelmingly tells us that preservatives in bread have saved lives. Part of the reasons people are anti vaccine is because they don't remember what life was like living with these horrible diseases. Well, few of us remember how many people died from moldy or bacterial contaminated bread!

Dear Past Lorelei: You can stay on your soapbox.
People get even dumber!

Only Buj Buj knows why she is yelling at me right now.
She's been fed, chicken and lobster in a can, no less. She's even had a cuddle. How can such a plush little beastie, with such a cute little face make so much noise? Damn Siamese ancestry!
Buj Buj is actually Burmese and they are generally much quieter, but I guess she didn't get the memo. She starts blaring and it's like a cross between Bette Davis and an air raid siren. I am not exaggerating!
